Match report A blistering innings from Harry Veal set up a big win for the NECL side, avenging their early season defeat against visitors Cavaliers.

Veal hit 21 fours and 5 sixes in a 122-ball 177 as Halstead scored 288-3 from their 40 overs. Catherine Dalton (32), Charles Mallett (19) and skipper Adam Morris (37 not out) played supporting roles in partnerships of 100, 70 and 110 respectively as Veal hit top gear.

Three early wickets for Callum Hansey and two for Sam Walter reduced the visitors to 84-5, before Ben Roper (4-6) - twice taking two wickets in two balls - and Liam Jones (1-0) wiped through the tail for the addition of no runs to give a 204-run victory.
