Danny Lynn's maiden five-wicket haul for Halstead was not enough as the Third Eleven went down comfortably to a strong Dunmow II side.

Max Glen-Doepel (91), Ryan Johnson (61) and Matt Cross (82) scored heavily at the top of the Dunmow innings as the young Halstead attack were put to the sword.

Matthew Tyson (1-43) broke the partnership as Sam Hume took the catch of Ryan Johnson but Glen-Doepel and Cross piled on the runs until the introduction of Lynn (5-50) and Mark Bloomfield (2-11).

Glen-Doepel was caught by Hume off Lynn, with William Harrison (0) and Sam Mixture (8) also caught off the same bowler by Bloomfield and Morgan Whymark respectively with Matt Takle (13) and Jamie McLaughlin (8) bowled for Lynn's first five-for.

Bloomfield had Cross caught by Alex Rippingale and Louis Smyth (1) stumped by Joe Doherty, but Dunmow closed on 293-8 from their 45 overs.

Halstead's reply never got going as six of the ten dismissals were bowled, with only Mark Bloomfield (28), Morgan Whymark (20*) and Shair Sullaman (10) reaching double figures.

Alex Rix (4-21), Sam Mixture (2-9), Jamie McLaughlin (2-16), Daniel Watson (1-5) and Louis Smyth (1-34) were in the wickets for Dunmow as the ran out comfortable 192 run winners.

Halstead's positives came from the strong Juniors contingent with debutante Hayden plumb joining fellow current and former HCC Juniors Sam Hume, James Tyson, Laura Robinson, Shair Sullaman and Matthew Tyson in the eleven.
