Match report Halstead entertained Lydd CC on Sunday, a touring side from Kent. They had previously played games at Brightlingsea and Chapel and Wakes Colne earlier in the week.

In a side with just one player over the age of 20, the youth of the club showed their promise. Tristan Blackledge (57) top scored, narrowly ahead of Ben Morris (51), both products of the club's Colts set up. Freddie Preston (28) scored quickly at the top of the order whilst Andy Charlton (38) and Digby Harding (26)added runs throughout the innings.

Callum Hansey took two early wickets opening up, returning figures of 2-26, with good catches being held by Morris and Blackledge. Ed Clark bowled a tight spell before the spin of Harding and Charlton took the game from Lydd. Harding took a hat trick on the way to figures of 4-9, whilst Charlton took 3-6 as the ran through the Lydd order. Skipper Josh Wells claimed the final scalp as Halstead completed a 148 run victory.
