Match report Torrential rain curtailed Halstead's game at Coggeshall on Saturday, soon after the visitors' reply began.

The hosts had made 230-9 from their 50 overs, with Sam Blackwell (63) and Lloyd edwards (53) top scoring.

Edwards and Rob Jagger (25) put on x for the 1st wicket as Halstead's bowlers struggled to make an early breakthrough.

Jagger was the man out however when he offered a simple chance to Harry Veal at square leg off of Josh Wells.

Jimmy Rees (12) fell soon after, hitting Dave Elsbury straight to Neale Dakin at midwicket.

Scotland and Essex wicketkeeper Matt Cross (1) did not last much longer, top-edging a sweep to Mark Johnson at backward square leg, again off of Elsbury.

Lloyd Edwards brought up his half-century, but fell soon after with Joe Morris holding on to a tough chance over his shoulder off of Wells.

Sam Blackwell attacked form the off, his first two scoring shots being boundaries, dominating the scoring in a partnership of x with K. Addison (4).

The latter was dismissed by Chris Roper, caught behind by Larvet Masunda, but Rob Cross built a solid partnership with Blackwell.

Blackwell went past fifty, but then holed out to Joe Morris on the deep mid on boundary off of Charlie Douglas-Hughes for 63.

George Blackwell (0) was caught behind by a leaping Masunda off of a Harry Veal slower ball and L. O'Connor was trapped LBW for 11 before the hosts closed on 230-9.

Halstead did eventually manage to start their reply after an extended tea break due to persistent drizzle, but a torrential downpour for around fifteen minutes meant umpires abandoned play.
