June Update: Subs due, nets work started

02 Jun 2014

May has been a good month for the club, the 1st XI having secured five wins on the bounce, whilst the 2nd and 3rd XIs have been picking up victories as well. It has been nice to see the products of our Colts system coming through in all three sides.

Some of you may have noticed, but over the past week work has begun on our new, three-bay nets. This should be done relatively quickly and will be ready to use in a few Thursdays time. Hopefully this will encourage even more to attend our training sessions.

We have made it through to the quarter-finals of the Sunday cup where we play host to West Mersea on July 6th. The fixture has been added so if you could now please input your availability (and for all other scheduled fixtures) as it would make Steve's job a whole lot easier.

A further reminder that player subscriptions are due. All the details are in the fixture card, but if you have an queries please don't hesitate to contact one of the committee - preferably Trevor - and we can sort that out.

You may be pleased to know that the club now have a chip and pin card machine behind the bar. This can be used for any payments to club, be it drinks, match fees or subs.

The Colts section continues to blossom and we hope to see more of the youngsters playing senior cricket this year.

Thank you to all those behind the scenes that give us the brilliant pitches and wickets that we have, run the bar and the beer festival and ensure that pavilion is tidy and the tea rota full.

Here's to another fantastic month in June.
