Match report Two former players, Paul Harris and John Clinch, returned to the fold to help Halstead secure a vital win over Elmstead Grasshoppers on Saturday.
In the bottom of the table clash at Church Road home advantage counted for nothing as Halstead took the full 20 points in their five wicket victory.

The experienced opening bowling attack of Robert Harris (3-22) and Dean Feneysey (1-23) tied down and made in roads into the Elmstead top order.
The pair reduced their opponents to 39-4 with an excellent display of swing bowling.
Run scoring coninued to be slow paced as stand-in skipper Mark Johnson turned to spin.
The ever reliable Digby Harding (1-30) showing why he is the club’s leading wicket taker this season with 34 scalps.
Leg spinner Andrew Charlton (1-18) bowled well in his maiden first eleven spell of the season.
John Clinch (3-21), one of two senior players making their return to the side, cleaned up the tail with his left arm spin as Elmstead were all out for an under par 129.

Paul Harris (22) and Tom Peacock (26) started well, pushing Halstead toward their total.
Digby Harding (34) was pushed up the order after Chris Rayner (0) fell without scoring.
The move paid off as he formed partnerships with at first Peacock and then Neale Dakin (24 no) that pushed Halstead to their target.
Dakin and John Clinch (16 no) saw Halstead home for the much needed victory, taking them 17 points clear of the relegation zone, now having beaten both sides below them.
