Match report A weakened 2nd XI fell to a comprehensive defeat on Mistley's second pitch on Saturday.

With a depleted batting line-up, Gary Dicker's side was unable to take advantage of the quick outfield and short boundaries on Mistley's back pitch.

Ian Pont (69) and Justin Rose (23) did get the innings off to a good start, but the introduction of Robin Mills and Phil Palmer turned the game.

Mills took 4-36 from 14 and Palmer 2-28 from 12 as the middle order struggled to get them away, closing on 157-9.

Graeme Butcher (47) scored quickly at the top of the Mistley reply, whilst Gareth Stevens (48*) and Kyle Branscombe (62*) saw off Halstead's attack to see Mistley home.
