Sudbury III v Halstead Cricket Club Saturday 3rd XI on Sat 21 May 2016 at 13.00
Halstead Cricket Club Lost by 7 wickets
Match report
A much depleted 3rd XI were beaten by their Sudbury counterparts at Lavenham.
With the team only having six players on Thursday evening, credit is due to those that turned out and helped get an eleven together, in particular Martin and Freddie Veal - father and brother of Harry - who made the journey up from Bath to play.
Martin Veal made a well put together 34 at the top of the innings, with Simon Rippingale (70) scoring a half-century.
Martin May (18) - playing alongside his son Kian - helped Halstead past 150 as they were bowled out in the final over for 174.
Sudbury were well in control of their reply, losing just three wickets in the process.
Veal Snr bowled David Shropshire (25), whilst the third father and son pairing of Dave and Sam Hawes took catches to dismiss Chris Cook (46) and Will Amos(84) off of the bowling of Charles Mallett and Freddie Veal respectively.
