A torrential downpour that left water on the square caused the 1st XI's game at Hadleigh to be abandoned.

Shorn Bobb (2-18) had taken two early wickets to reduce Hadleigh to 26-2 as Marlon Dias (2) was caught behind by Gary Dicker and Alex Milnes was bowled.

Josh Davey (8*) and Zimbabwean pro Kudzai Maunze (4*) moved the hosts on to 41 before the heavens opened and, after a long delay, the game was abandoned.

Halstead take their 7 points into an important home tie against Division One new boys Lakenheath on Saturday.
