Match report Kelvedon won the toss and inserted Halstead 2nd X1 at Star Stile and their decision was quickly vindicated as Halstead lost both openers, Darren Hutchinson and Adam Morris, with only fifteen on the board Brian Coleman (25) and talented all rounder Tristan Blackledge ( 51) staged a belligerent recovery taking the score to a respectable 81-3 before a mid-order collapse saw Halstead reduced to 105-8. George Edwards (19) and Sam Walter ( 14*) hit out leaving Halstead with a fairly respectable total of 138. Veteran off spinner Mark Surridge bowled unchanged for fifteen overs , well supported by some superb 'keeping from Darren Hutchinson and a smart catch by Jon Dale, having the visitors struggling at 96-6. Surridge finished with impressive figures (5-40) and Simon Steel and Sam Walter also grabbed wickets but Kelvedon were not to be denied as they got home with three wickets to spare.
