Match report HCC - 124-2 - beat Bardwell - 123 all out - by 8 wickets

Mark Bloomfield's 3rd XI finally took to the field for the first time this season and ran out comfortable victors over the previously unbeaten Bardwell.

Morgan Whymark (6.1-2-22-2) and Barrie Morris (8-2-32-0) took the new ball, the former taking the early wicket of Simon Kelly (3) before Jacob Wade (40) and Leigh Mayhew (28) settled into a partnership.

The introfuction of the part-time seam of Taylor Nicholson dramatically turned the tide as the 18-year old ran through the Bardwell batting line up, claiming 6-33 from 8 overs - his maiden 5-wicket haul for the club.

Majid Bajwa (13) was the only other Bardwell batsman to reach double figures, with Marks Bloomfield (2-0-5-1) and Surridge (8-0-23-1) taking the other wickets.

Bloomfield (0) did not trouble the scorers at the top of the Halstead reply, but Gary Dicker (66*) and Sam Hawes (44) shared a century second wicket stand - the latter falling to Bajwa with the scores level - to give the 3rd XI an impressive victory.
