Mark Bloomfield's side kept up their 100% record in Division Eight with a 6 wicket win over hosts Colchester Cavaliers.

Darren Dellar (50) played a captain's innings for the hosts after being put in to bat, top-scoring with an 88-ball half-century, his only real support coming from Simon Gilhooly (12).

The mercurial Andrew Jones returned to the side with figures of 15-7-19-3, taking out the Cavaliers top order with Alex Rippingale (2-27).

Mark Surridge (3-18) and Callum Hansey (2-15) cleaned up the tail - the former breaking a dangerous looking partnership courtesy of a stunning catch by David Rawlinson at midwicket to dismiss Gilhooly - with Salman Riaz (15) the only other batsman to reach double figures.

Surridge (0) was lost early on in reply, a ball popping off a length as he was caught behind by Dan Young off Riaz (1-20).

Sam Hawes (33) and Bloomfield (37*) added 48 for the second wicket before Hawes looped a catch to JJ Ellison at cover off Kaiser Chowdhury (1-25), Rawlinson (0) was bowled soon after by Ellison (1-20).

Hansey (8) and Bloomfield ticked the scores to within 19 of victory before the former top-edged a cut to Chowdhury at point off Jon Walton (1-9), leaving Charles Mallett (12*) to see Halstead home.

The victory means the Third Eleven have not yet dropped a point, sitting in third position behind Bardwell and Dunmow II courtesy of them having played one and two more games respectively.
