Match report Blistering half-centuries from Onke Nyaku (91) and Cody McDonald (88) set-up Witham for a 44 run victory in the second NECL T20 West Division fixture of the season.

The hosts won the toss and batted first, with Joe Morris (3-30) and Ed Clark (1-29) taking the early wickets of Jake Wakelin (4) and James Smith (2), but Nyaku and McDonald hit 17 fours and 9 sixes between them as Witham racked up 216-6 from their 20 overs. Nyaku fell nine short of a century, but McDonald survived two straightforward catch attempts in the deep before finally being bowled in the final over, the third wicket to fall to Joe Morris.

Halstead got their reply off to a solid start as Shorn Bobb (52) and Liam Jones (28) went at 10 an over for the power play, but it was death by spin as the Witham slow bowlers turned the screw. Ollie Cooke (3-24) the pick of the attack, with Ed Clark's 38 the only other score of note, Halstead ended on 172-6.
