It is with a heavy heart that the club announce the passing of club legend Lloyd Rayner yesterday (Tuesday 18th June) afternoon after a short battle with cancer.
Lloyd's presence at Star Stile on a Saturday afternoon, his encouragement of the youngsters at the club and his larger than life attitude will be sorely missed.
Lloyd made his 1st XI debut as a 17-year old in 1963, going on to score 21,386 runs at an average of 29.66 and take 280 wickets at 20.67 in a 33 year 1st XI career, captaining the side for three seasons between 1980 and 1982.
Our thoughts are with his wife Melissa and daughters Sarah, Jo, Nicola and Lynette and their families at this sad time.
