After the success of both the Masters and PGA Championship Sweepstakes, we thought we’d best keep it up for all the Majors this season. With that, next up is the US Open at Pebble Beach.
The tournament starts on Thursday, June 13th so you have plenty of time to get your entries in, but to extend the opportunity to more people we are giving you a bit more of a warning! Deadline for entries will be 10am on Thursday, 13th June. Once again the entry fee is £5, payable to Ed (details below).
To those of you that have played before, the rules will be familiar, however for those that haven’t, you must select a golfer from each of the four pots below; USA 1, USA 2, ROW 1 and ROW 2. These are the Top 32 golfers from the USA and the top 32 from the Rest of the World split into Top and Bottom 16 respectively based on World Rankings.
To keep things interesting, we have put Jordan Spieth into the Top 16 pot, despite narrowly missing the rankings cut.
The lowest cumulative score of your four golfers will take 1st Prize, with the splits below. If one of your players misses the cut, their score will be doubled.
- 1st Prize: 60% of pot
- 2nd Prize: 25% of pot
- 3rd Prize: 15% of pot
The best example, according to last year’s Masters competition would be as follows…
ROW Player 1: John Rahm (-11)
ROW Player 2: Cameron Smith (-9)
USA Player 1: Patrick Reed (-15)
USA Player 2: Russell Henley (-5)
Based on the scores above this person would have a score of -40.
