Match report Despite an abandonment due to heavy rain, Saturday's result appears to have been enough to secure Halstead's Division One status for another season.

Both Cambridgeshire champions Foxton CC and Norfolk's Brome CC do not wish to take up a place in the EAPL, leaving the Two Counties winners Mildenhall with the berth.

This means that barring points deductions or a league restructure, only two teams are to be relegated from Division One with Josh Wells' men now unable to finish in the bottom two.

Before the rains came the 1s had been bowled out by their hosts for 163. Mark Johnson (31), Harry Veal (31), Adam Morris (22) and Josh Wells (20) scored runs in the middle order, but four wickets for Hyde meant a sub par total was posted.

Wells took the wicket of Hyde in the reply, but rain prevented any further play.
