Match report Three wickets for 13-year old Sam Paisley helped set up the win for Adam Morris’ Sunday side at Kelvedon on Sunday.

Kelvedon skipper Tom Potter (82) and Ed King (36) were thorns in the Halstead side adding 50 for the fifth wicket, the captain’s belligerent half-century containing 10 fours and 2 sixes on their way to 170-7 from their 40 overs.

Harry Veal (45) got the visitors off to a good start but fell just short of a half-century, putting on 64 with 16 year old Taylor Nicholson.

Nicholson and Adam Morris then added 62 for the second wicket as Halstead closed in on victory. Nicholson (39) was run out after good work from Potter and keeper Josh Parsons.

Kelvedon’s own 13 year old seam bowler James Horslen then bowled Morris for 40, before Ed King yorked Liam Jones (12).

Larvet Masunda was there to see the side home with an unbeaten 25.
