Match report Excellent economical bowling helped lead Halstead to victory over Kirby as they continue their quest for the North Essex Cricket League Division Three title.

Andrew Jones' return of 9-6-3-1 and Dave Hawes' 6-4-6-1 were the pick of the figures, with Sam Walter taking 3-11 as Kirby were restricted to a miserly 92-9 from their 40 overs. D. Woods the only Kirby bat to pass double figures, top-scoring with 31.

Harry Veal continued his fine batting form in the competition with an unbeaten 59 - he now has 550 runs at an average of 91.67 - with birthday boy Ben Roper (17) and Sam Hawes (17*) providing the supporting role as the visitors cantered to a 9 wicket win inside 17 overs.
