Match report Halstead IIs are facing an uphill battle to retain their Division Three status after a 146 run humbling at the hands of Brockley.

After A. McCaffrey went off the field early on after being hit in the shoulder by a Brandon Ward short delivery, Stuart Fisher (127) and Jay Hill (81) put on 198 runs for the second wicket.

Fisher rode his luck as some terrible fielding contributed to a total of six dropped catches, but the record Brockley second wicket stand was damage enough.

Liam Jones returned to the attack to take 5-75 as the Brockley middle-order tried to score quick runs to finish on 276-8.

Halstead were buoyed by their clawing back of proceedings when a total of well over 300 looked on the cards, but their reply faltered from the off as they fell to 37-3, with M. Geeves (4-19) the instigator.

David Baalham (26) and Liam Jones (24) added some runs down the order, but the innings went through the motions as the hosts never looked like getting near to their target.
