St Margaret's v Halstead Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 05 May 2018 at 13:00
Halstead Cricket Club Lost by 34 runs
Match report
Halstead 2nd XI – 96 all out – lost to St Margaret’s 1st XI – 130 all out – by 34 runs
Andy Rose’s second eleven are still search of their first win of 2018 after a batting collapse saw St Margaret’s take victory in a low scoring affair.
Just 12 boundaries were scored at Ransomes Sports Centre on a turgid day for run scoring as just 5 players reached double figures in the game.
Manoj Das (44) and Jestavasan Logeswaran’s (26) 71 run third wicket partnership proved to be pivotal for the hosts after an early wicket apiece for Robert Harris (1-21) and Justin Rose (1-25) had reduced them to 21-2.
Callum Hansey (1-33) dismissed Das just short of his 50, before Mark Harris (4-5) and Liam Jones (3-38) ripped through the Ipswich side’s batting lineup.
Nesa Ganesh (4-21), Callum Tucker (2-13) and Logeswaran (1-10) were quickly into the Halstead top order as Adam Morris (3), Justin Rose (7) and Taylor Nicholson (0) fell.
Liam Jones (18) and Andy Rose (24) rebuilt from 26-3 with a 55-run stand, but despite needing just under 3 an over from the start, were never up with the rate.
From 81-3, Halstead lost 7 wickets for just 15 runs, finishing a long way short of their 131 run target.
