Match report Halstead II were soundly beaten at the hands of their Witham II counterparts.

Witham won the toss and were restricted very well by the Halstead bowlers for the first 27 overs, though they accelerated from 98-2 after 28 to 290-4 from the allotted 45. Luke Robinson (2-46) and Callum Hansey (1-82) made the early inroads, Jack Bamford (16) was caught one-handed at gully by Chris Roper off Robinson, whilst Hansey was fortunate to trap Jack Pawsey (26) lbw.

Michael Glynn (57) was patient alongside Ollie Cooke (101), but when Glynn was trapped lbw by Chris Roper (1-56) the floodgates started to open. Cooke threw off the shackles once joined by skipper Jack Sambrook (69*) and the pair put on 128 in just 12 overs, Hansey's final three overs bearing the brunt, going for 47 as Cooke raced to a century, finally falling to Robinson in the penultimate over.

Halstead's reply never got going. It was hampered from the start when Adam Morris (5*) retired hurt after being struck on the ankle. Though there were starts for some of the batsmen - Mark Johnson (15), Justin Rose (13), Chris Amos (19) and Gary Dicker (18) all reached double figures - there was never a danger of reaching the mammoth target.

Luke Robinson top scored for hosts with well made 42, though it was a matter of when not if Witham wrapped up victory. The Halstead tail frustrated the visitors, keeping them in the field until the 44th over. Sambrook (3-21) and Cooke (2-9) were the pick of the bowlers, backing up their batting exploits.
