Match report The 1st XI made the journey to Mistley for their fixture , captain Ryan Vickery called correctly and invited the home side to bat first .
The Halstead bowlers ripped through the top order leaving Mistley at one time on 89/8 however Garwood with an unbeaten 44 helped get them to a slightly more respectable 157. Not for the first time Josh King was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4 wickets with Lewis Millions and Josh Wells collecting 2 each.
In reply Callum O’Connell fell cheaply but Harry Pritchard and Ryan Vickery batted fluently taking the score to 92 before Pritchard was caught and bowled for 29.
Vickery continued to 60 before being bowled by which time the match was virtually finished , Halstead winning by 5 wickets and 15 overs to spare.
Next week the 1st’s play Maldon at Star Stile whilst the 2’s travel to Mildenhall and the 3rd team make the short journey to Chappel and Wakes Colne.
