Match report The second eleven were outplayed at home to Abberton in Division Three.

They were put in to bat by Abberton, who soon reaped rewards with the early wicket of Matt Webb. Cath Dalton (19), with first Graham Cook (19) then Simon Steel (24) proceeded to put Halstead back in a good position. However three wickets, those of Dalton, Steel and Justin Rose, fell for no runs, falling from 72-2 to 72-5. Tristan Blackledge (39) and David Baalham (24) played measured innings' as they looked to ensure Halstead used up their overs. A late burst from Mike Booker kept the runs down as he finished with 5-36, Halstead making 152-9 off 45 overs.

Abberton's reply was looking slow at the start, Tristan Blackledge and Cath Dalton both claiming LBWs to leave Abberton at 44-2. However ex-Halstead player Richard Moxon (73 n.o.) and Jonathan Ward (46 n.o.) offered few chances as they settled in and took Abberton home with almost a third of the overs remaining.
