Match report Halstead II - 122-1 - beat St Margaret's - 119 all out - by 9 wickets

Halstead avaenged their early season defeat with a resounding 9 wicket victory over St Margaret's.

Kevin Roche (43) and Jestavasan Logeswaran (28) top scored for the visitors, who never got above three an over in their innings.

Early wickets for Justin Rose (1-10), Luke Robinson (1-22) and Josh Ruthven (1-18) were followed by Roche's watchful innings.

An excellent run-out from Callum Hansey to dismiss Adithya Patnam (0) preceded Sam Walter (3-22) trapping Roche lbw.

Walter took a further two wickets, whilst Callum Hansey (1-18) and Graham Wickes (2-6) cleaned up the tail to bowl St Margaret's out for 119.

In the reverse fixture 130 had been enough for the Ipswich side, but on a quick track and outfield at Star Stile it was well below par.

Graham Wickes (66*) and Mark Johnson (27) put on 95 for the first wicket, Hardik Surana (1-27) got the latter to play onto his own stumps shortly after Wickes had passed 50.

The left-hander has now scored 335 runs at an average of 55 and was there at the end alongside Andrew Clark (8) - who had earlier taken three dismissals behind the stumps - to see Halstead comfortably home.

Any Rose takes his side to their Coggeshall counterparts this Saturday.
