Easton v Halstead Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 06 Jul 2019 at 13:00
Match was Abandoned due to rain

Match report Halstead - 96 all out - vs Easton - Match abandoned

Prolonged heavy rain at the tea interval caused the Second XI's trip to Easton to be abandoned without a ball of the hosts' reply being bowled.

Halstead had earlier been bowled out for 95, slipping to 70-6 as Robert Taylor (5-42) and Nathan Jenkins (2-29) wrought havoc with the Halstead batting line-up.

Only a 36-run stand between Charles Mallett (29) and Sam Johnson (21*) stopped the rot, but Ezra Fuller (2-12) and William Crookall (1-8) took wickets as Halstead fell four runs short of reaching three figures.

The rain set-in soon after Halstead left the field and would not move for the next few hours, with the captains eventually agreeing it was set-in and the match would be abandoned. A welcome 6 points that Halstead were unlikely to better had the game continued.
