Match report Halstead got their defence of the NECL T20 title off to the perfect start with a resounding 10-wicket victory over competition debutants Great Waltham.

An unbeaten 58 from Matt Duggan, supported by Harrison Elles (23) and Richard Horsewill (22) saw the visitors rack up 143-4 from their 20 overs. Josh King (2-13) was economical for his two wickets whilst Greg Oxlade (1-24) picked up his first Halstead scalp.

Ryan Vickery (89*) and Harry Pritchard (48*) batted beautifully and didn't offer a chance as they chased down the total with two overs to spare. Vickery's half-century was his fourth in four innings in a Halstead shirt.
