Match report Halstead Second Eleven reach the halfway point of the season without a win to their name and deep in the relegation mire after an 8-wicket defeat to 10-man Brockey on Saturday.

Seven batsmen were out caught, pointing to some poor shot choices as Halstead were bowled out for a well below-par 103 from 41 overs. Dave Brooker (21), Mark Harris (18) and Justin Rose (17) got starts but could not kick on as Joe Megan (3-42) and Joel Walter-Smith (4-18) did the damage.

Brockley never looked troubled in their reply, Stuart Fisher (48*) batting through with support from Paul Webb (22*), Alex McCaffrey (15) and Ben Jeffrey (13). The only bright spark on an otherwise disappointing day was Rob Harris, taking 2-30 from his 8 overs as Brockley wrapped up victory with 19 overs to spare.
